I have just finished reading the book Slave.  Upon completion of the book, I was so deeply moved I got on my computer right away to try to find a link to either Mende Nazer or to Damien Lewis. I was unable to find any such thing. I then tried you Website.  I have looke at many sites with no results, then I came across your Website.  I do not know if this note will ever reach Mende Nazer, but it all possible please forward it to her.

Thank you for sharing such a very private part of your life.  I have never been so moved as I was in reading you story. Words do not express my hurt for you and then my joy in your new freedom.  As I read your story, I just wanted to reach through the pages and hug you forever.  I am a 44 year mother of a 15 year daughter. It broke my heart to think a child, a girl child could be so abused. I could not imagine my daughter ever having to endure that kind of abuse. It made me want to jump on a plane (I live in the USA) and help rescue all of the helpless young ladies that are still enduring such torture.

Iam a Christian women who just wants to let you know that you now own a piece of my heart.  You will be in my prayers.  I pray for the blessed reuniting of you with your family, what a glorious day that will be!
